Phased Collinear EDZ Array

This 15 m band model consists of an array of collinear Extended Double Zepp (EDZ) dipoles. EDZs are dipoles that are longer than one wavelength and offer higher gain compared to a half-wave dipole. However, matching an EDZ's input impedance to the commonly used 50 Ohm coaxial transmission lines in practice is challenging due to its significant capacitive reactive component.

To address this issue and achieve a bi-directional radiation pattern, the antenna incorporates an implicit model of 8 450 Ohm transmission lines, effectively forming a phased array. These 450 Ohm transmission lines can be achieved using 2-wire ladder lines. It's worth noting that 5 of these lines are short-circuited, terminating in short wire segments where the shunt admittance at the end is 10^10 Siemens.

This configuration enables the antenna to achieve a bidirectional radiation pattern with a narrow and high-gain beamwidth. Additionally, it provides an input impedance that is practically resonant and easily adaptable to a 50 Ohm feed line.
